Toms River police investigating Saturday morning fatal accident

Toms River Police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at 1130 Saturday morning on Main Street near union.  A 47 year old Toms River female was southbound on Main street when she for unapparent reasons crossed main street and struck a utility pole and tree.  Toms River Fire Companies extrication  units removed the victim from the vehicle and transported by Toms River Police Ems to Community Medical Center where she was pronounced around 130 p.m.  Investigating are Traffic Sergeant Chris Dudzik, Terry Warren and the Ocean County sheriff’s Department and Ocean County Prosecutors Office. 

Main Street was closed in Both direction from Dayton to Washington and it is recommended that people avoid that area of main street into the evening as utility employees repair the utility pole that was damaged.

Police are also investigating another accident that occurred at 10 a.m.  A witness was on the phone calling 911 reference an erratic driver when the car struck a tree and overturned on Bay Avenue just east of Fischer Blvd.   The Driver Luisa Fisco 46 of Flaam Street Toms River was transported by Toms River Ems to Jersey Shore Hospital in Neptune.  Traffic safety Officer Brian Doyle is investigating.
