Jackson Little League shuts out Berkeley in 5 innings District 18 tournament play

The Jackson Little League 12 year old All-Stars improved tonight to 2-0 in the 2011 Little League District 18 Tournament after a 10-0 mercy ruling win over Berkeley in Brick.   Jackson batted around the order in the bottom of the first including a triple by Spinelli and a two run blast over the fence by Kanner.    Jackson ended the inning with 7 runs on 7 hits.   In the second inning Kanner scored on a Christie RBI single, making it an 8-0 game for Jackson.

Mullin scored in 4th for a 9-0 Jackson lead and Termine crossed the plate with one out in the bottom of the 5th, causing a 10 run mercy rule victory for Jackson.  Zak and Raffa combined for 7 strikeouts on the mound for Jackson in the two hit shutout.
