Escort or Beltronics Radar Detector?

Most people who look for radar detectors know that Escort & Beltronics make the best radar detectors.  What many people do not realize however is that Escort & Beltronics are the same company.  Both these companies merged many years back and with the ability to use each others patents the combined company has been putting out the best radar detectors for years.

So which do you choose? Well under both names there are equal products in the category ranges but usually some slight feature differences.

The Standard Radar Detectors are the Escort 8500×50 & Beltronics RX65.  Both units share the same antenna and performance is virtually identical. RX65 however has more features for the money so between these two my choice would be the Beltronics RX65.

GPS Enabled Detectors are the Escort 9500ix & Beltronics GX65.  Again both share the same antenna and performance again is almost identical.  Both can mark and ignore false alerts but the Escort has an auto mode to automatically mark false alerts and on the Beltronics GX65 its manual so between these two I would go with the Escort 9500ix.

Stealth Detectors are the Escort Redline & Beltronics Sti Driver.  Again both share the same antenna but in this case the Escort Redline is tuned slightly better giving the Escort Redline a slight performance gain.  So for stealth detectors I would go with the Escort Redline.
