Woman sent to hospital after vehicle overturns on Hooper Avenue

Toms River Police responded to a motor vehicle accident just after 7 p.m. at Hooper and Oak Avenues.   A 2001 Jeep was reported to be westbound on Oak Avenue when it collided with a 1995 that initial reports from witnesses indicated it was westbound on Oak making a left turn onto Hooper Avenue southbound. After the crash the jeep overturned numerous times and the  45 year old female passenger was ejected from the jeep.  The other driver Judy Schwartz 55 of Walnut Street Toms River was not injured in the accident.

The ejected driver was treated by Toms River Police EMS at the scene and medi-vac from the parking lot of the Ocean County Mall to Jersey Shore Hospital Trauma Center.  Traffic was detoured for about one hour during the accident investigation.  Traffic Safety Officers Gary Flynn, Eugene Bachonski and Steven Schwartz are investigating along with the Ocean County Prosecutors Office and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department.
