Jersey Shore AYF Week 0 Scores

Local area AYF Football teams had a great start to the season in week 0 with most teams coming up with wins.   Jackson had two key wins as the Jags beat the Brick Dragons 6-0 in midget play and a come from behind win against a tough Colts Neck team 14-12.

The Toms River North Little Indians also came home with two wins this weekend, beating Lacey 8-6 in midgets and shutting out Manalapan 18-0 in Junior Midgets.

Toms River Angels defeated Long Branch 27-0 and the Raiders lost in overtime 40-33 against Red Bank.

On Friday, the inaugural season of American Youth Football at the Jersey Shore officially kicks off and Jackson’s Jaguar AYF has been chosen to be one of three hosts on the evening, including Brick and Manalapan. The games will be the first time these clubs, formerly of the Pop Warner organization will play on a Friday night. 12 teams will be competing in this special night to celebrate the official opening night of the new league.

In the Jackson football double header, the Toms River Angels will play Neptune at 7pm followed by an 8:30pm game between the host team JacksonJaguars against Ocean. Both games are midget division match ups.

Games will be played at the Jackson AYF complex on Manhattan Street, adjacent to the Lucy N. Holman Elementary School.  Please bring canned goods to these games this weekend starting Friday night as Jackson AYF is proudly take part in The Kraft Huddle to Fight Hunger. Help JYFC and NJAYF support those who need our help. They will be collecting the items by the food stand.
