Fishin’ in Seaside Heights (FISH) to host 8th annual fishing tournament
The Seaside Heights Business Improvement District and the Seaside Heights Fishing Club will hold its Eighth Annual Fishin’ in Seaside Heights (F.I.S.H) on Saturday, October 1, 2011. Fishin’ in Seaside Heights (F.I.S.H) promotes fishing while providing an educational experience for the entire family. The festivities will include a Children’s Fishing Tournament from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the Ocean front. Children can participate in two categories: 12 years old and under and 13 years old to 16 years old. Registration for the tournament will start at 9:00 a.m. at the Franklin Avenue Stage. The first 200 participants will receive a free t-shirt from the Seaside Heights Fishing Club. Free bait will be provided as well as hooks and sinkers for the children to use. The tournament does support the practice of catch and release. Seaside Heights Fishing Club members will be manning the beach to assist all those in attendance with instructions on supplies, rigging and tally recording. Pictures will be taken of any prize-winning catches. Light refreshments will be provided for the children. Awards will be given out immediately following the tournament.
