High School Football: Mariners seeking to redeem themselves against South

After a 42-10 defeat last weekend at home, the Mariners and QB Scott Buxbaum are looking to get their season back on track against the 0-3 Indians.  The Indians come into the game with perhaps the longest losing streak in school history, hoping to end it with a win against their cross town rivals from North.  The Mariners, 2-1 got a lesson in the unexpected of Shore Conference football last week and don’t seem ready to make the same mistake of underestimating their opponents again.    That’s the bad news for Toms River South, the Mariners will be looking for payback, even if it comes at the Indians’ expense.  If the Mariners want to start working their way back to the top of Class A Central, a win Friday night is critical, or they may find themselves quickly at the bottom of the pile Saturday morning, despite such a strong start to the season.
