Breakwater Beach bids farewell to Revere’s Run

As the summer season is ushered out, Breakwater Beach  is already planning for 2012 with the removal of the single tube slides known as Revere’s Run.  The slides, which are on the Grant Avenue side of the water park were constructed in 1986.  Demolition has already begin and in its place two new rides will be constructed.

The new rides will share one tower but  offer two very different riding experiences. The Topsy Turvey  will propel riders through a serpentine, enclosed tube with two funnel openings. The ride will feature gentle oscillation and high banking turns along the way.  The BulletBOWL is a compact bowl that delivers a steep tunneled-in run and tight bowl radius for a truly awesome centrifugal experience.  Both rides utilize a two person raft for double the fun.

Breakwater Beach is excited to be the only park in our area to feature either ride.  “This is a thrilling time for the park.” says Lou Cirigliano, General Manager of Breakwater Beach.  “We’re sad to have to take down a tried and true popular ride such as Revere’s Run, but we are very excited about being able to replace it with two distinct high capacity and thrilling rides such as these.  I think it will take Breakwater Beach to the next level of enjoyment for our guests!”

The project is expected to be completed before the opening of the park for the 2012 Season on May 26, 2012.
