On Saturday night, local residents Steve Barlotta (Jackson) and JT Bowen (Toms River) (Both featured in the July issue of JTOWN Magazine) performed saxophone on stage at the Stony Pony with Bruce Springsteen and members of the E-Street Band. Officer Victor Tamaro is investigating the theft of a purse from a vehicle parked at Bay Lea park between 230 and 300 pm Sunday afternoon. The gold purse was removed from the front passengers side floor of a UNLOCKED car and contained credit cards, $8 in cash, and a $50 lowes card.

Unknown suspect(s) entered the rear yard of Quickcash 1521 Route #37 west and removed the following items 200 lbs of vehicle alternators, 200 lbs of vehicle starters, and 3,000 lbs of used batteries. Officer Ron Sermarini is investigating this theft that occurred over the weekend.

Toms River Police after a month long investigation have arrested Brian Polito 47 of 29 Cayuga Road in Cranford on Monday. Mr. Polito was charged with fencing and after his arrest released on $75,000 bail. Officer Thomas Grosse Jr and Chris Raia are investigating a daytime burglary that occurred at a residence on Gladney Avenue. Unknown subjects entered a window on the side of the residence between 7 a.m. and 2 pm on Wednesday. Suspect(s) removed over $1000 of Jewelry before fleeing the residence through the same window.
