Car with 7 teenagers coming home from party involved in accident according to Toms River police

Toms River Police are investigating an accident that occurred 445 a.m. Sunday at Congress and Michigan Avenue.  Christopher Ryan 18 Of Toms River was operating a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder south on Congress Street at excessive speed and the driver lost control it slid sideways across Michigan Ave after striking a utility box then a tree at 784 Congress.

 

There were seven teenagers in the Nissan from 3 females and three males from 14 to 17 years of age.  Ryan was transported to Jersey Shore Trauma center along with Nicholas Corsair 15 of Toms River.  The other teenagers were transported to Community Medical Center with less serve injuries.

 

Two females reported to officers they asked to be let out of the vehicle prior to the accident and that all of them were coming from a party where drinking was taking place.  Christopher Ryan has been charged with Reckless Driving, failure to wear a seatbelt  and other charges are pending by investigating Officer Adam Koeppen.
