Investigation on going in weekend crash, 5 teens still hospitalized
Toms River Police are continuing to investigate a one vehicle accident that occurred 445 a.m. Sunday morning on Congress Street. The Ocean County Prosecutors Office has joined the investigation that still has 5 of the seven teenagers, all of Toms River hospitalized at Jersey Shore Medical Center Neptune and Community Medical Center Toms River.
Operations Bureau Commander Steven Henry has assigned Traffic Safety Sergeant Chris Dudzik to coordinate the investigation that required four ambulances Sunday morning after the Nissan SUV left the roadway and struck a tree. The driver Christopher Ryan 18 is at Jersey Shore Medical Center with a leg injury along with 14 year old and Kylie McNamara, 14, with back injuries. Nicolas Corsair, 15, and Isabella Kendrick, 15 are also at Jersey Shore Medical Center. Corey Lopez, 17, is in Community Medical Center.
Police Officer Adam Koeppen, School Resource Officer Frank Bopp and juvenile Detective Alex Scherer are all assisting on the investigation.
