After Making Illegal Turn, Toms River Man Confesses to Police He’s “Too Drunk To Drive”, Hands Over Keys
At 3 a.m. Friday morning Brick Township Officers James Iannarone and Mark Byers were enroute back to Brick Township after dropping off a prisoner at the Ocean Conty Jail. The Officers were stopped at the traffric light at route # 37 and 166 when they observed a vehicle next to them make a left in onto route #37 eastbound lanes. The Brick Officers then also turned left in the westbound lanes and made nuerous attempts to get the drivers attention and have him turn around. The officers sped up and went to the interesection of 37 and Hospital Drive where they were able to have the driver stop. The driver then handed the officers his keys was very cooperative and stated to the officers he was “too drunk to drive” Toms River Police Officer Adam Koeppen charged Mr. Daniel Goss 46 of Toms River with DWI, reckless driving and driving the wrong way on a one way street.
