Two New Businesses Open in Toms River

Two new businesses recently opened their doors in downtown Toms River. The Autumn Meadow Trading Company Candle Shoppe and Sweet Tush, a bath and body shop, both had a ribbon cutting ceremony at their new businesses at 11C &D on Washington Street in downtown Toms River.
Dana Pulsinelli, the Confectionery Artist for Sweet Tush, sells 100% Calorie Free Gourmet Bath & Body Treats. The bath items look so real that you’ll be tempted to eat them. Pulsinelli says, “We make our own cupcake bath bombs. They are themed to represent real food, including cakes, donuts, and fudge.”
Toms River Township Mayor Thomas F. Kelaher cut the ribbon for the formal grand openings. “When I saw the ‘cupcakes’ at Sweet Tush, I thought they were real. They have bath shaped bakery items, and for a moment, I thought I was in a bakery, not a bath and body shop. It smelled so wonderful.” Over at Autumn Meadow Trading Company, Kelaher said, “I smelled a mint chocolate candle, among others. I’m amazed at how they can create these scents from scratch. This was definitely a quality product. I wish both of these businesses much success.”
Sweet Tush owners make their products on site and Pulsinelli tells customers, “If you need a scrub bar for sensitive skin, we’ll make it. We also carry ‘Made in the USA’ boutique items.” They opened a wholesale location in 2007 and realized that they needed a retail location because of the demand, so they chose downtown Toms River.
Maris De Mott, Candle Maker and Owner of The Autumn Meadow Trading Company makes hand-crafted soy candles. De Mott stresses that customer service is their #1 priority and says “If a customer has a particular scent that they would like to enjoy in a candle, we can blend it and then test it out for them.”
In keeping with their environmentally friendly Natural Soy Wax candles, De Mott says, “We also have a recycling program where you can bring in your empty candle jars and you’ll receive $3-$5 back, depending on the size.”
Some of the signature scents found at Autumn Meadow Trading Company are Lemon Grass, Cucumber Melon and odor eliminator candles. They also carry a deodorizing room spray, as well.
De Mott says, “We opened the store on Nov. 18th and we’re doing very well so far, we’re very happy.”
