Edgar, Frazier Depart After Last Training Session in Toms River

Today, two professional athletes from Toms River had their final training session before heading to their respective events at All Star Sports Academy in Toms River.    This morning, UFC Lightweight World Champion Frankie Edgar completed a pre-dawn workout before hopping on a plan for Japan to defend his title against Matt Henderson in UFC 144.

Later in the afternoon, Todd Frazier, Cincinnati Reds’ third baseman did a final workout before heading to spring training camp in Goodyear, Arizona.  Frazier, who saw time last year at 3rd base is hoping to once again make the 25 man major league roster for the Reds.    The Reds’ spring training season starts March 5th with a home game against the Cleveland Indians.

Frazier said in an interview today at All-Star Sports Academy that he’s been training throughout the off-season and is ready for spring training.    He says he know he has to bring up his batting average and hopes that this year, he can show the Reds that his 6 home runs in just 112 at bats part time can translate into a 30 plus home run season for the MLB sophomore.

In the coming days, check back to see our full interview with Todd Frazier as he prepares for his second season with the Reds.
