Toms River Police Arrest Copper Thieves in the Act

Toms River Police received a call from an alert resident at 10:30 pm Monday night,  that someone was inside a building at 3100 Route #37, formerly a Convertible Showcase store.   Officer Michael Foy and Vincent Pedalino responded and found two bikes near the building near an unsecured door. As additional units including Sgt James Reilly and his k-9 partner Thunder arrived officers began a search of the building.  Shortly thereafter officers arrested Robert Flynn 45 of 211 Sumner Avenue and Michael Arendt of 56 Webster Avenue both of  Seaside Heights.    Officers recovered numerous amounts of copper tubing cut into 12 inch pieces and placed in canvas bags.  Both subjects were held in Ocean County Jail on $25,000 bail for Burglary, Theft and Criminal Mischief.
