Man Evades Toms River Police After Mistakenly Thinking He Has Outstanding Warrants

Toms River Police Department Reports:

Officer Michael Foy was investigating a report of two suspicious people on Foster avenue at 530 Monday afternoon Adams Avenue .  while checking the suspects a male later identified as Nathaniel McMartin proceeded from run from the officer over a fence into a backyard on Mystic Port Place.  Officer Foy arrested McMartin who stated he ran because he thought he had outstanding warrants for his arrest.  Once under arrest for obstruction and hindering apprehension , it was determined there were no active warrants and he was then lodged on $1000 bail in the Ocean County Jail.
