Man Flown to Hospital After Being Shot in Toms River

On Friday night,  Toms River police received several calls reporting gunshots in the Gilford Park  section of town.    The shooting occurred at home on Gilford Avenue during a birthday party for a 21 year old male.  Numerous people were in attendance according to Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy.

“The victim ran to a neighbors home looking for help .”  Mastronardy said.  The victim, whose name was not released, was transported to Jersey Shore Trauma Center by helicopter.    The Ocean County sheriff’s office is assisting with the investigation.  Mastronardy said the Ocean County Posecutor’s office will provide additional info tomorrow.
