Stabbing and Shooting in Toms River Being Investigated by Police and Sheriff’s Department

Toms River Police have reported that a male stabbing victim was admitted to Community Medical Center at Approximately 1 a.m. Saturday morning.   The victim was brought to the hospital by friends,   Upon an investigation, police learned that the male was stabbed in an apartment lot complex by an unknown subject.

Toms River Police Chief Mastronardy said he is unsure whether or not the stabbing is related to an earlier shooting.

At 11:30 p.m on Friday night,  Toms River police received several calls reporting gunshots in the Gilford Park  section of town.    The shooting occurred at home on Gilford Avenue during a birthday party for a 21 year old male.  Numerous people were in attendance according to Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy.

“The victim ran to a neighbors home looking for help .”  Mastronardy said.  The victim, whose name was not released, was transported to Jersey Shore Trauma Center by helicopter.    The Ocean County sheriff’s office is assisting with the investigation.  Mastronardy said the Ocean County Posecutor’s office will provide additional info tomorrow.
