Toms River Little League Stays Alive in District 18 Tournament

On Sunday, Toms River American suffered their first lose of the double elimination All-Star tournament to a very good Brick Little League team by a score of 10-0 in 4 innings. Brick received a solid pitching performance from Nick Stephan and also received clutch hits and long HR’s when needed. Brick will advance to the winners bracket final on Tuesday July 10th in Manchester, while TR American will play in the losers bracket semi-final on Tuesday in Manchester as well.

On Tuesday, after suffering their first loss in the double elimination tournament they bounced back by eliminating Barnegat Little League by a score of 19-3. TR American hit 7 HR’s in the game lead by Jared Bellissimo who added 2 to his total. Anthony Sasso, who sat out the last few games with a knee injury returned to go 2/3 with 2 HR’s both coming in the 8 run 6th inning. Austin Feigin was 4/4 with a solo shot in the 4th. The other HR’s were hit by Michael Browne and Justin Schaff.
