Man Struck by Car in Downtown Toms River Rushed to Trauma Center

Lawrence Husted , 56, of South Toms River was crossing Water Street in Downtown Toms River  at 10 p.m. on Friday night when he was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound driven by Joann Toth, 56, of Bayville.  Husted was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune Township.  According to traffic safety officer Steven Schwartz, of the Toms River Police Department,  Husted was valet parking cars for the Water Street Caf.   He was in the process of returning to the restaurant from the Toms River municipal parking lot when the accident occurred.
