Howard Stern Producer, Gary Dell’Abate Involved in Accident Near Six Flags Great Adventure
Jackson Township is no stranger to celebrities coming to spend a day at Six Flags Great Adventure. In the past we’ve reported everyone from A-List to D-List as they make their way through our town over the years. In the past, I have reported everyone from Mariah Carey to Kimbo Slice to one of the Jonas Brothers to Glenn Beck and I honestly forget who else, as they came through our town.
On Thursday afternoon, August 2nd, Gary Dell’Abate, longtime Executive Producer of the Howard Stern Show, came to Jackson and was involved in a car accident on Monmouth Road according to the Jackson Township Police Department.
Dell’Abate, 51, who is affectionately called “Baba Booey”, was traveling eastbound on Monmouth Road when he was attempting to turn right onto Anderson Road.
At that time, Dell’Abate’s van collided with an ambulance owned by Action Mobility Transportation Services of Neptune, New Jersey, being driven by Pedro Martinez, also of Neptune.
A police report taken at the scene indicated Dell’Abate stopped at Anderson Road and activated his left turn signal. Martinez then proceeded to pass Dell’Abate on the right. Martinez said Dell’Abate then turned right, striking the ambulance. Dell’Abate stated that he was turning right, with his right turn signal activated when he collided with the ambulance.
Police say at this time, no clear conclusion could be made, but they are awaiting footage from an on board video camera in Martinez’ ambulance.
As for Dell’Abate, we made a call to his agent on Monday and have not received a return call on the incident. We hope he finally found his way to Great Adventure with his family and returns. Next time, just let us know, because we’re big fans here! We’d love to have you in our magazine on a more positive note next time!
