T-Rex Dinosaur the Throw Out First Pitch at Upcoming BlueClaws Game
By Phil Stilton
A 15 foot tall T-Rex animatronic will be on display next Tuesday at First Energy Park, home of the Lakewood BlueClaws. The dinosaur, provided by Field Station: Dinosaurs will throw out the first pitch before the BlueClaws game against the Delmarva Shorebirds.
“T-Rex is one of more than 30 interactive or animatronic dinosaurs featured at Field Station: Dinosaurs, an interactive outdoor Jurassic learning destination in Secaucus,” said Marjorie Kaplan, a spokeswoman for the attraction, in a release today. ”Visitors will go back 90 million years with more than 30 full-sized animatronic dinosaurs, puppet shows staring the T-Rex, a dig site and interactive educational games and workshops along a .75 mile trail nestled near the Snake Hill prehistoric rock formation adjacent to Laurel Hill Park. ”
The BlueClaws can use all of the pitching help they can get at this point. After a dismal first half performance landed them in next to last place with a 26-43 record, they now find themselves in fourth place, just two games behind the West Virginia Pirates in the South Atlantic League’s Northern Division second half playoff race. The BlueClaws are 26-24 in the second half.
