Lakewood Woman Arrested for Telling “Tru” Story

Lakewood–Police here have arrested Danielle Appenzeller, 24, of Lakewood early Thursday morning for filing a false police report.

She reported to Officer Sean Smith that her vehicle was stolen from the WAWA convenience store  on Route 70 in Toms River.

“But the police investigation determined she filed the false report and that she gave the vehicle to a black male she knew only as  ’Tru’ near winteringham village during the night,” according to neighboring Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy. “Police went to Winteringham Village and recovered the vehicle and she was released on a summones.”
