Lacey High School Coed Cheer Team to Host Golf Tournament in September to Raise Money for Nationals
Lacey–The Lacey High School coed cheer team is hosting a Golf Tournament to raise money to help the squad get to the Nationals this coming February.
Ranked 2nd in the nation in the small group coed division, the team of 25, which includes 6 boys and 19 girls has been practicing since March for their season, which begins in November. In the winter, they spend 6 days a week practicing. The team is strictly a competition squad and does not cheer at football or basketball games.
It will take place on September 21st in Ocean County at the Atlantis Golf Course. Tickets are $125.00 each and that includes a day of golf and a hot buffet lunch with a gift auction. 128 tickets need to be sold in order for the group to reach their goal. The gift items range from $50.00 upward to $1200.00, with prizes that include a tailgate package (grill, sportsbrella, canvas folding chairs, and cooler), Kindle, Big screen TV, fine wine basket containing 10 bottles of wine, gift card basket, containing over $600.00 in various gift cards, and many other items.
The money raised will help the team get to Nationals in February of 2013, as the trip is completely funded by fundraising efforts that both the students and the parents participate in. The school is not able to offer any financial assistance, although they completely support our efforts and recognize the hard work and dedication that goes into this. The Golf Tournament is only one of our many fund raisers that we hold throughout the year.
The group has currently registered 68 golfers for the outing.
