Cops in Shops Detail Nabs Man Buying Alcohol for Teen in Barnegat
Barnegat–On August 25th at 9:16pm, Detective Michael Mitchell arrested Anthony Flores, 22, and Leah Stadtmauer, 19, both of Barnegat.
Detective Mitchell along with Detective Maryann Cirulli were on a Cops in Shops detail at the Spirits Unlimited on Route 9 in Barnegat when they observed Flores and Stadtmauer enter the store together. They further observed Flores purchase alcohol which Stadtmauer had selected.
Flores was charged with purchasing alcoholic beverages for a person underage. Stadtmauer was charged with having another person purchase alcoholic beverages for an underage person.
Both subjects were processed and released pending a court date.
The Cops in Shops detail is funded by a grant and involves placing undercover officers in establishments that sell alcohol with the purpose of stopping the illegal purchase of alcohol to underage subjects.
