Little Egg Harbor Police Find Knife During Traffic Stop on Route 9
Little Egg Harbor–On 09-03-12, Jon Franchetti, age 45 of Egg Harbor Twp. was charged with possession of heroin, crack, cocaine, suboxone, drug paraphernalia, hypodermic syringes, and unlawful possession of a weapon. Franchetti was stopped in the McDonald’s parking lot on Rt. 9 at 1:14 am for various motor vehicle violations. While officers spoke to Franchetti, a tubular glass smoking device was observed inside the vehicle in plain view. The smoking device appeared to be a crack pipe. Patrolwoman Tonya Anderson utilized her K-9 partner “Tag” who is trained in narcotic detection. A search by Patrolwoman Anderson and K-9 “Tag” revealed heroin, crack, cocaine, suboxone, drug paraphernalia, hypodermic syringes, and a large knife with a 12-inch blade. Franchetti was placed under arrest, and bail was set at $60,000. Franchetti was later transported to the Ocean County Jail in default of bail. Patrolwoman Tonya Anderson was the arresting officer, assisted by Sgt. Thomas Wallace and Patrolman Wilfredo Hernandez.
