Jackson Memorial Falls to State Champs Manalapan

Jackson–After an 8-2 season in 2012, Jackson Memorial found itself down one to start the new season after losing 30-12 to the defending state champion Manalapan Braves.    It was a change from the past, as Jackson has defeated Manalapan in the last two season openers.  Manalapan was able to bounce back and win a state title in 2011.  Could the Jaguars fortune prove similar?

Jackson played a rushing defense against Manalapan, but the Braves countered in the air.   Jaguar Nation got their first glimpse of sophomore Quarterback Joe DeMaio.

DeMaio scored on a seven yard run to give the Jaguars their first touchdown of the game, trailing 17-0.    Also competing for the quarterback job this season is Charles Lombanoto who connected with Nick Specht on a 36 yard touchdown pass.
