Mobile Home in Jackson Suffers Heavy Damage in Wednesday Night Fire

Jackson–Firefighters from the Cassville and Whitesville Fire Companies responded to a structure fire at a home on Cathy Court in the Jackson Acres mobile home park at approximately 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

“The mobile home sustained significant interior damage due to a fire which was extinguished by fire personnel,” according to Jackson Police Lt. Steven Laskiewicz.  ” The incident is still under investigation.”

Cassville Assistant Chief John Alchevsky said when firefighters arrived, there was heavy smoke observed coming from the home.  ”The fire was contained to the bedroom, but the rest of the structure suffered heavy smoke and heat damage,” he said. “We were luck, because mobile homes fires tend to spread very fast and this one didn’t.”
