Lakewood Police Chief Praises Resident Who Detained Burglar and Accomplice

Lakewood-(TLS) Police Chief Rob Lawson today highly praised the resident who detained a burglar and his accomplice in middle of the night, allowing police officers to make the arrests and solve other burglaries in the process.

“He did a super job”, Chief Lawson tells TLS, “It worked out extremely well – not only in detaining the suspects, but the grabbing the keys from the ignition,” the Chief says, which allowed the police to arrest the pair before they fled the scene.

“I personally called to thank him for his actions, and enabling us to solve other burglaries,” the Chief said.

However, the Chief added that although the victim did a great job, he would not encourage these type of actions for the general public because of the possibility of a suspect carrying a weapon.

The suspect, 26 year old Pablo Louis Riverra Jr. of East Kennedy Boulevard, admitted to multiple other recent burglaries. The accomplice arrested, a woman, may possibly be a relative, the Chief says.
