Man Arrested for DWI After Driving into Fire Hydrant; Fleeing Scene

Jackson–On Sunday, Officers responded to the area of Hampton Drive after a vehicle had struck a fire hydrant and fled the scene. A short while later, officers located a 1999 Infiniti on Bennetts Mills Road which was involved in the crash. During the investigation, the 20 year old driver was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and the car was impounded. The driver was processed at headquarters and charged with DWI, Reckless Driving, Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Failure to Maintain Lane. He was later released on summons pending a court appearance.
