Morro Castle – Special Exhibit

The Morro Castle, the luxury cruise ship, burned and ran aground in Asbury Park, NJ on September 8, 1934. This tragedy caused the death of 137 people. 

The Ocean County Library has partnered with the New Jersey Maritime Museum, Ocean County Historical Society and the Asbury Park Library to bring you this special exhibit of artifacts, photographs, documents and more. 

This is the first time Ocean County Library has publically exhibited their special collection of Morro Castle documents from the Ocean County Coroner’s office from 1934.

Book signing > In conjuction with this program a special book signing with the authors of the latest book about the Morro Castle will be taking place on Sat. Oct 13th. To register and read more about the book signing, click here
