Your News: Ocean County Library Maker’s Faire October 20th

The Toms River Branch of the Ocean County Library will be having a Maker Faire on Saturday, October 20th, 2012, from 11 am to 2 pm and we thought you might want to offer this opportunity to your science students. There will be people there with 3-D printers which can replicate objects in plastic. Jennifer Richmond, owner of JenniCakes (custom cakes and favors), will be there making cupcakes that look like robots. Robodyssey will also be there…Robodyssey will bring lots of prototype robots, demonstrations, and hands-on activities for the teens. Robodyssey will also bring teens from their tutoring classes to explain their robots and to help with hands-on activities where participants can program autonomous robots to compete one-on-one in robot sumo battles. And last, there will be a variety of recycled crafts for the teens to make.
