Jackson Republicans Announce Grand Opening of 2012 Campaign Headquarters Tonight

Ken Bressi, Barry Calogero and Rob Nixon, the Republican endorsed candidates for Jackson Council, announced today the official start to their election campaign under the slogan “Leadership for Jackson’s Future” and the opening of their campaign headquarters in the Shop Rite Plaza on September 12, 2012.
“This election is critical to the future success of our community,” said Council President Bressi.  “Jackson voters will have a clear choice in November in voting for a team that has a proven track record of fighting to stabilize taxes.”
The Bressi/Calogero/Nixon “Leadership for Jackson’s Future” team consists of individuals who are active in the community on economic development, land use and local government issues and who hold business experience needed to keep the cost of government low at this critical time.
Councilman Ken Bressi is seeking re-election to Council where he is currently serving as Council President.  A 40 year resident with a strong record of holding the line on taxes and spending, he is a past Mayor and Deputy Mayor of the Township and a former Chairman of the Jackson Planning Board.  A Vietnam veteran, he is the co-founder of the Jackson Veterans Memorial Garden.
Barry Calogero is currently the Senior Vice-President and Managing Director of Finance and Operations for a large Institutional investment firm.  He serves as the Chairman of the Township Zoning Board where he has been a member for 6 years.  He is also a member of the Citizens Budget Advisory Committee and is a former member of both the Mayors Youth Advisory committee and the Township Parks and Recreation committee.
“We have worked together this year, on Council and on the CBAC, to develop a municipal budget that at under 1% falls well below the Governor’s 2% property tax cap,” Barry Calogero continued.  “We want to continue the success of Republican leadership in town that over the last few years has cut local government spending and reduced our borrowing costs.”
Rob Nixon is Founder and President of a government and public affairs consulting firm.  He is a member of the Citizens Budget Advisory Committee, the Jackson Economic Development Committee and the Saint Monica’s Council of the Knights of Columbus.  He holds a Masters of Governmental Administration degree from the University of Pennsylvania where he is currently an Adjunct Professor at Penn’s Fels Institute of Government.
“This election comes at an historic time for our town and our nation,” Rob Nixon concluded.  “We are prepared to meet the challenges this economy has placed on us and we understand firsthand our residents desire to expand our economic development activity while continuing to do more with less of their hard earned money.”
The campaign also announced the opening of their Campaign Headquarters on September 26th in the former Hallmark Store in the Shop Rite Plaza on County Line Road.  Anyone interested in volunteering at the Headquarters for the campaign for the Bressi/Calogero/Nixon “Leadership for Jackson’s Future” Team or any of the 2012 GOP campaigns should contact Campaign Manager Clara Glory at (732) 928-3898.
