With Help from Vigilant Neighbor, Toms River Police Capture Man Suspected in Multiple Burglaries

Toms River–On Thursday,  September 20th an alert neighbor advised Toms River Police that he observed a  suspicious male near his home on Silverton Road near Church Road.  When he was questioned, the black male as to why he was in the area going near his neighbor’s home, the suspect he “was looking for landscaping work”,  and left the area on a blue motorcycle.

Three hours later Officer Ryan Rush observed a possible suspect on Old Freehold Road.  Officer Rush arrested the driver of the motorcycle Glenn Kearney 36 of 112 Melville Avenue , Lakewood on outstanding warrants from Toms River for $500 and Lakewood for $750.

 

Officer Rush recovered jewelry and a pry bar at the time of the stop.  After an Investigation with Detectives Louis Santora and Roger Hull additional charges were lodged for an attempt burglary at the home on Silverton Road. Bail  was set at $50,000 with no 10% option.  He is also charged with burglary to a home on Yorktowne Blvd in Holiday City reported on the 18th of September with an additional bail of $50,000 no 10%. Detectives recovered evidence relating to another  burglary that occurred on June 15, this year as well as another residential burglary in Holiday City the investigation is continuing.
