Assailant Who Stabs Two, Arrested After Being Knocked Out in Second Attack

Lakewood-(TLS)–Two men were stabbed and robbed this evening, but the suspect was arrested moments later after being knocked unconscious during another robbery attempt, police say.

The incidents occurred on Route 88 shortly after 9 PM, when a Hispanic male allegedly stabbed two Hispanic men in two separate incidents, and robbed them.

But while attempting to rob a third person at the gas station near the NJ Transit, the tables were turned and the suspect was knocked unconscious by his victim, police say.

Police arrived moments later and found the suspect laying unconscious on the ground, and was subsequently arrested and taken into custody. A screwdriver allegedly used to stab his victims, was found on the floor nearby.

Lakewood EMS and Lakewood First Aid treated the victims.

CIU responded to the scene and is investigating.
