Stafford Police Arrest Woman for Forging Checks

On Wednesday, October 4, 2012, Stafford Twp. Police investigated a check fraud case which occurred on Galley Ave. Manahawkin, NJ.  Investigation led Stafford Twp. Police to arrest Kayla F. Burdette (21 years of age) of Windsor St. Forked River, NJ for burglary, theft, and forgery.  Ms. Burdette entered the victims Galley Avenue residence and removed the checkbook.  Burdette then forged the victims signature, and cashed the check at a local banking establishment.  Ms. Burdette was processed at police headquarters and transported to Ocean County Jail in default of $1000.00 bail.  This matter is pending a future court date in Ocean County Superior Court.

 

Ptl. Richard J. Sinopoli, Jr. #68 was the arresting officer with assistance from Ptl. Mark Flanagan #100 and Ptl. Edward Kunder #98.
