St. Aloysius 1st Grader Places at NJ Grammar School Championship

Jackson–The Saint Aloysius Pee Wee, JV and Varsity Cross Country teams participated in the New Jersey Grammar School Championship at Allaire State Park last weekend. There were 20 schools with over 700 runners.    First grader, Caitlin Mahala, came in third place overall for her grade.  Nick Estrada (Senior Boys), Julie Almaguer, Gabby Estrada (JV Girls) and Ryan Mahala (JV Boys) finished in the top 35. Nick Estrada and Michael Werthmuller each ran a personal best.   Julie Tartza, coach of the Pee Wee team  said “The Pee Wee Cross Country team had a great time. This is such a well-organized event. The children have such a great time from the start of their race with the speakers blaring out the “Rocky” theme to the thrill of crossing the finish line and receiving a medal. Congratulations to everyone who participated.”
