Two Teens Caught in the Act Vandalizing Gas Station in Toms River

An alert citizen dropped a dime on two men trespassing at the fenced off Exxon gas station on Route 37 and 166 in Toms River Thursday night around 10pm, according to Police Chief Michael Mastronardy tonight.   Police responded and  Officer Shan Ruiz was first officer to arrive and upon exiting his patrol unit heard glass breaking.

Ruiz witnessed two suspects taking turns throwing pieces of concrete at the front door.  The suspects were observed breaking the door and entering the business. Officer Michael MacDonald and Ruiz were approaching the business when the two suspects exited and then fled on foot.

ne suspect was apprehended by Officer Ruiz on route 166 and the other was apprehended by Officer Travis Seaman on North Gateway.  Both were males were 17 years of age from Bayville and were charged with juvenile complaints of Burglary, Criminal Mischief and then released to their parents.
