OCC Men’s Soccer Team Wins With Goal in Final Minutes

Toms River–The Ocean County CollegeĀ Men’s Soccer teamĀ seeded #3 in Region XIX post-seasan and hosted Camden CC today.

The Vikings tied the game up with a shot by Ben Vergara (65th minute) and then took the lead when Steve Guedes (85th minute) knocked one in. Camden came roaring back to tie the game ten seconds later (2-2). With two minutes remaining Chris Thompson played hero and volleyed in the game winning goal to send the Vikings to the Region Semi-finals! Very exciting win! Congratulations Vikings!

The men are moving forward to play Bucks CC away on Tuesday Oct. 23. The winner of Tuesday Oct. 23 will play in the finals on Saturday Oct. 27 at the Tournament Host site – Ocean County Stadium at 2:30 pm.
