Jackson Police and Fire Respond to Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident

Jackson–On Tuesday October 23, 2012 at approximately 5:24 am, the Jackson Police Department was called to respond to the area of Bennetts Mills Road and Maxim Court on the report of a motor vehicle crash. First arriving officers found a single car crash involving a 1995 Ford Ranger pick-up versus a tree. The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was found to be unrestrained. The driver was conscious at the scene and was treated by Quality Medical Transport and Monoc Paramedics. Firefighters from the Cassville Fire Company, Station 56 also responded and assisted on scene. Initial investigation revealed that the driver left the roadway for unknown reasons and impacted the tree with the front of the vehicle.

At approximately 7:19 am, Jackson Police Dispatch received a call from Jersey Shore Medical Center that the driver from the crash waspronounced dead. The identity of the 33 year old Jackson resident is being withheld pending the confirmation that the next of kin has been notified.

The crash remains under investigation by Police Officer David Watson and assisted by Traffic Officer Trevor Crowley. Anyone with any information about the crash is asked to contact the Jackson Police Department at 732-928-1111.
