New Aerials Allow Residents Displaced by Hurricane Sandy to Check on their Homes

Toms River–Ocean County residents along the northern barrier island in New Jersey can now get a better glimpse of their homes, thanks to local helicopter pilot Patrick Day, of Liberty Helicopter Tours.  Day, a Toms River resident has been supplying Toms River Magazine with photos while he is going back and forth along the barrier island helping with the relief effort.

Day says he’s thankful to be able to help people who can’t get to their homes get a glimpse from the air.  ”Many families have reached out to me trying to find out the status of their home and town on the shore because they have been in the dark,” he said.

So far over 150 high resolution and detailed images of the barrier island from Point Pleasant to Seaside Park have been released by Day through Toms River Magazine.

You can check out Pat’s photos as he publishes them to the Ocean County Police Blotter page on facebook.
