Manchester Woman Arrested After Running Over Man Holding Her Child

Jackson–On Monday November 12, 2012 at 7:32 pm, Jackson Police Officers along with First Aid and Medics responded to 40 Cassville Road on a report of a hit and run motor vehicle crash.

 

The investigation revealed that during the course of a dispute, a female driver had used a 2002 Mazda she was operating to purposely strike a male subject who was holding the couple’s six year old daughter at the time.

She then ran the male over and struck another with the vehicle who came to assist.  She then placed the child in the car and left the scene.

 

One of the victims was transported to Helene Fuld Medical Center in Trenton for treatment and the other was transported to Kimball Medical Center in Lakewood.

 

The Mazda was located at the Quick Check in Manchester by Manchester Police.  The driver was taken into custody and transported to the Jackson Police Department.

 

Arrested:

 

Michele Duffy, age 34 of Manchester, NJ.

 

Ms. Duffy was charged with:  Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.  Bail was set at $50,000.00 with a ten percent option by Judge Daniel Sahin and she was later lodged in the Ocean County Jail.

 

The investigation is ongoing at this time and additional charges may be pending.
