Gas Main Problems Close Route 37 Access to Barrier Island Friday

TOMS RIVER–Toms River Township has announced that there have been more gas leaks than expected as New Jersey Natural Gas continues testing and turning on the system.  At 8 pm Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, Toms River Township was informed that NJ Natural Gas has encountered more leaks on the barrier island than they expected.

NJ Natural Gas has additional remedial work to do on the re-pressurization project on the barrier island that will require the access to homes to remain restricted on Friday 12/14/12. The bridge must remain closed on Friday morning 12/14/12. As soon as NJ Natural Gas notifies the Township they have completed the work, access will be restored.
