Structure Fire Engulfs Brick Township Home
BRICK–On December 21, 2012 at approximately 4:40 a.m. police, fire and EMS units were dispatched to a three alarm residential fire at 21 Tilton Rd. Brick, NJ. A neighbor from 13 Tilton Road had observed flames coming from the residence and called police.
Upon police arrival they found the home to be fully engulfed in flames. They also observed the fire causing damage to the siding of the neighbor’s home, 17 Tilton Road. Police were able to contact the residents at 17 Tilton and evacuated them safely. No residents were home at 21 Tilton Road at the time of the fire.
The home at 21 Tilton Road suffered severe damage and partially collapsed as a result of the fire. A portion of the roadway also began to flood as emergency personnel were battling the blaze. The flooding of the roadway did not impede the efforts of emergency personnel who were responding to the fire.
Breton Woods, Pioneer, Laurelton, Herbertsville and Point Pleasant Boro Fire Departments responded to battle the structure fire. Fire Departments from Point Pleasant Beach and Howell(Ramtown) were placed on standby to cover the rest of Bricktown. There were no injuries reported as a result of the fire. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and is being investigated by the Brick Township Fire Bureau.
