JCP&L Delivers Christmas Eve Power Outages to over 10,000 in Lakewood, Toms River & Jackson

TOMS RIVER–(via The Lakewood Scoop)–About 5,000 JCP&L customers in Lakewood, over 5,000 in Toms River and over 1,300 in Jackson were without power Christmas Eve according to JCP&L.  Police say the power outage was reportedly caused by a power failure in the substation located on Faraday Avenue – which is near the Jackson border.

Sections of Jackson Township also experienced 3 to 4 outages last between 10 to 15 minutes between 6 pm and 8pm.  As of midnight, power had been restored to affected areas.
